Jude Bellingham has revealed a shocking fact about racism against minority footballers in the UK: black players are far more likely to face racial abuse on the pitch than their white counterparts.

He has also come under fire for appearing in a film about racism against Asian footballers.

“I had been invited to come and talk about the film, but the question was whether I’d be coming to speak about racism against Asian footballers or to speak on racism against black and Chinese and Indians. I chose the first part.”
The film was made by actor and director Antoinette Robertson and she has since made it clear she did nothing to ask Bellingham to cancel his appearance at the film’s premiere. Bellingham is not a fan of the film, which he described as “a hate film”.
