French manager Didier Deschamps has revealed his joy at reaching the last four of the World Cup as he was mobbed by teammates when he revealed they had done so.
Yaya Toure was equally impressed, having already seen the victory over the United States complete the first quarter-final appearance for the club he spent seven years at.
“It’s great. I still have so many things to say but to see the team today, it was incredible,” a smiling Deschamps told Sky.
“It’s incredible when you see players like (Anthony) Martial, (Trent) Sainsbury, (Nacer), they’re really proud, after so many years. I must say we are not the best team in France because we have not won a trophy yet in France, but to be in the final and to reach the World Cup is a good result.”
