Two people were stabbed in a downtown Los Angeles parking lot Tuesday morning in the latest attack of its kind in the city, which has seen an uptick in such attacks in recent months.
Police fatally shot a 19-year-old known gang member in a downtown parking garage Tuesday afternoon. Police told CNN that a second stabbing victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
One person was critically injured in the parking garage and another was taken to the hospital, LAPD Capt. Johnny Hernandez told reporters while they were at the scene. Police were searching the garage, but said it is not likely there are more victims.

This is the latest in a series of attacks targeting victims, often children, who are known members of criminal gangs.
The 19-year-old suspect used a stolen U.S. Postal Service package to kill one person in each of the three attacks, according to police.
