L.A. County expected to see cooler temperatures, cloudy skies and possibly rain next week.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a call for a house fire in the 6000 block of Wurzbach Street at 8:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Fairview.
The blaze started in a garage and spread to a first floor apartment and the attic. The crew was able to contain and extinguish the fire to the ground floor apartment and the attic.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
A man was taken to the hospital with injuries he sustained when his truck careened off the roadway in the 12200 block of South Colorado in Torrance on Friday at 4:35 a.m. He was treated and released.
A man walked into a hospital at 8:21 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The man was trying to find his way home when he got into a fight with another driver and fell behind the wheel, according to Los Angeles Fire Department officials.
The man was taken to the hospital in serious-to-life-threatening condition.
The man who received a bullet wound to the leg is still being treated in L.A. County Jail on suspicion of attempting to elude officers, a violation of the Vehicle Code.
The man did not strike police but was driving his Jeep Liberty when he tried to elude them, officials said.
